What is copyrighted material?

Copyright law protects the creator from having their work used without their permission and in a ways they do not wish it to be used.

Copyrighted material can include, but is not limited to:

  • Books
  • Magazine articles
  • Blog posts
  • Music
  • Sheet music
  • Artwork
  • Photos
  • Videos
  • Designs
  • Clothing patterns
  • Engineering and architectural plans

This includes both physical and digital versions.

Students are allowed to use copyrighted materials in connection with their studies. For more information about how much you can use click here.
