What is Demand Driven Acquisitions (DDA)?

A DDA or Demand Driven Acquisitions Agreement, is in place with various vendors to allow access to a larger number of eBook titles through TAFE Queensland Library Network website.  Access to the titles is mediated or unmediated via a set price.

Unmediated

  • If a title is accessed by a TAFE Queensland Library Network member the title is available for perusal for 5 minutes. (Set by Vendor).
  • If the perusal time is reached the item is automatically purchased and access is provided shortly after.

Mediated

After the perusal time is reached, a form is made available to request purchase or a short term loan of the item. The request will be sent to a mediator who will assess the item using the following criteria:

  • The resource is not already owned
  • An owned resource does not provide similar or the same information
  • Provides value for money
  • Supports the learning and teaching needs of TAFE Queensland.

After mediation of the request notification of purchase or decline is sent to the requestor.
