What are scholarly and peer reviewed journals?
Peer review is a process in which a book or journal article is read, critiqued and fact-checked by experts before its publication. Peer review is most commonly applied to journal articles, as they are a common method of publishing professional scholarly research. For more information about peer review, see this page.
Scholarly journals are not:
To find peer-reviewed literature:
1. Go to the TAFE Queensland Library Network website and search for your topic using the Quickfind search bar at the top of the page.
2. Select the advanced search option from beneath the search bar. This will take you to a new page.
3. Scroll down the page to find the peer review option and click on the box to select it. Make any other changes and selections you require, then click the search button at the bottom of the page.
4. Your search results will open and should now be all peer-reviewed. There will be a new peer reviewed check within the result refiner section to the left-hand side of the screen.
